Bob was absolutely wonderful. My dad rescued a cockatoo and we had little information about her. She was showing signs of being sick and I didn’t know where to turn. After making several other calls, I called Bob and he was so kind, knowledgeable, and most of all caring. He provided a contact for an aviary hospital and gave us an idea of what could be going on. Just the time to explain what could be happening when we felt so helpless meant the most. Happy to report she is doing better and we will for sure be supporting this amazing local business going forward. It’s not every day that you find someone how truly cares and is knowledgeable the way Bob is!

I purchased Green cheeked conure Beautiful well tempered bird Bob really knows what he’s doing with his animals. Amazing store highly recommend if you’re in the CT area and interested in purchasing a parrot. would definitely come to purchase a bird from him again

Recently my wife and I have been considering purchasing a sun conure as a new house pet. I’ve been googling, chat GPT’ing, and watching YouTube videos not stop trying to learn more about them and if it’s the right bird for us. Reviews mean a lot so when I was looking up bird stores, Exotic Birds by Windsong seemed promising. I drove over an hour and a half to Orange CT to check out some birds and let me tell you… it was well worth the trip! Bob is an extremely knowledge and patient man! I must have hung around the store for 2 hours just picking his brain asking about pretty much every bird in the store. He gave me such great insight and although I did not purchase a new flying friend today, I know for sure that once the holidays are wrapped up, we’ll be back at Exotic Birds to pick out and purchase the perfect bird for us.

Bob is a very nice man who knows what he is doing with the birds. I love that he hand feeds them as babies till they are ready for millet and seed. I absolutely love my baby lutino cockatiel that I purchased from him in December. My baby cockatiel I now call Remy is very loving and affectionate. I can’t wait to get home from work to be with Remy! Thank you Bob so much for your expertise 😃

Exotic Birds by Wind Song is fantastic! We got a beautiful, healthy cockatiel and couldn't be happier with the bird's condition and personality. The owner is extremely knowledgeable, super passionate, and took the time to answer every question thoroughly. This is hands-down the best place in the area for birds— the only one I'd recommend to anyone looking for a pet bird. Highly recommend!

First off, Bob is an amazing person who has a very good understanding of his birds and knows so much about them all. I talked to Bob for the first time the day after Christmas and put a deposit on an Indian Ringneck that was to come in late February or March. When birds arrived, and all were so cute! Fast forward a month, I was allowed to start handling the bird and spending time with it. Bob was so friendly and answered all the questions I had, and when the time came to take her home, he gave me instructions for the food along with what to watch for to make sure she’s doing all good. Thank you, Bob, for Harper! 😄

Owner is very kind and patient. Parrots are healthy and well fed, very plump and cute. The parrots are on display only and do not have any enrichment such as toys and whatnot. They do have nesting boxes and access to food always, a combination of seeds, and fruits and vegetables. Overall good experience with fair pricing. To be fair to the owner—birds are very messy. The enclosures are taken care of well as I did not see feathers everywhere or bird food on the floor. Yes, the storefront he operates in is quite old, and it has the appearance of being a bit grimy due to the low lighting and small room. However, it’s quite difficult to clean with birds around due to their sensitivity to cleaning products, and keep in mind that the owner is an older gentleman who runs the storefront alone. My guess is that he cleans it alone and also maintains multiple species on his own. Not a very easy task. It would be nice if it was cleaner and brighter inside, but overall the birds are healthy. This is just a storefront that hasn’t evolved into the modern bright aesthetic that most stores have the appearance of (such as chain pet stores) For those concerned about the unethical practices in the pet trade, these are all domesticated animals who can’t survive in the wild. The owner breeds baby birds and they are used to being cared for by humans. The only concerns I have are the lack of toys, and that the owner tends to clip the baby birds wings.

Bob is one of a kind. We just purchased a cockatiel from him. Being first time bird owners, we had absolutely no idea where to begin, but Bob’s knowledge and patience with us made us feel so much more at ease. You can really tell how much passion he has for his birds and he even likes to keep in contact with you after you take the bird home to make sure they’re well taken care of. As soon as we took our bird home, he adjusted very quickly to his new environment and began eating within only a few hours after being in his cage. Bob did a remarkable job with socializing these birds. We are so impressed and will be coming back in the future if we decide to get another! :)

We decided to go to this store upon some good reviews as we wanted a cockatiel that wasn't from a big box store and I'm glad we did. Bob worked with us on selecting a baby and I appreciated that he didn't go home with us until Bob was sure he was absolutely ready which took a few weeks. He communicated very well on any updates, and we were about to visit the bird from time to time (my son was excited and needed his visitation, lol) It was nice to have someone knowledgeable, as we were able to send him pictures of the cage for tips on proper bird setup, etc. We've had our little guy here for about almost a week now, and he is has adjusted SO quickly, and has such a calm and sweet disposition. I attribute that to how well Bob was with him before we received him. It was also a nice touch that he wanted check-ins to see how the bird was doing once home. If we ever decide to get another one, we will certainly be going to Bob, and it was an overall great experience. Thank you!!

Mr. Bob was very knowledgeable about his flock. He knew the character of each bird and you can tell he knows what he’s talking about. I took a yellow naped amazon parrot and he instructed me thoroughly on how to care for him. He followed up personally even after purchase to ensure the parrot was doing well and didn’t need medical attention. He also offered a 30 day health guarantee. Thanks for everything Bob.
